7 gourmet activities to add on your summer bucket list

There is no better activity than those that end with a good snack. So, to fill your day off as much as your stomach, we have prepared a bucket list of gourmet activities that you must schedule to your agenda this summer!

1. Bike ride to the dairy

It's always nice to go for a bike ride with a goal in mind. In this case, a dairy as a destination is always a winning choice! Ready to go? Take the bike, check up the tires, put on your helmet; and here we go for a small 10 km round trip. Psst... after the effort you have accomplished, no need to hesitate between a small or an medium cone. ;)

2. Corn roast

A summer without corn roast is not a real summer. Because an afternoon pool with friends or family with a dozen corns always equals an incomparable day! Validate the temperature, reserve your date, then send your invitations; Voilà your next corn roast is already organized.

3. Picnic in the park with family or friends

The magic of a picnic is that everything tastes better, don’t you think? Sit on the grass to enjoy every bite of our fresh meal, you finally have time to taste food in good company. Again, you don’t need to make great preparations to create a Ricardo moment: a large blanket, a cooler filled with the best ingredients in your fridge and finally a group of friends to share!

4. Quebec Public Markets Week

If there is a week to highlight in your diary, it is that of August 11 to 20. During these 10 days, it will be Quebec's Public Markets Week. This event takes place in public markets throughout Quebec. Abitibi, Montérégie, Estrie; there’s something for everybody.

5. Breakfast on campfire

You slept outside so why not cook the breakfast there too? The campfire is perfect for cooking eggs, bacon, toast and even beans. Above all, it is necessary to be equipped with a cooking grill and a cast iron stove. A pleasant culinary experience that makes us appreciates even more the luxury of our stove once back home!

6. Pick your own strawberries and raspberries

Baskets in hand, you are ready to go picking strawberries or raspberries, according to your preference. This family activity is perfect anytime. The little ones will be able to search the biggest strawberry while the parents benefit of a quiet afternoon in a beautiful field.

7. Portes ouvertes sur les fermes du Québec

A visit to the farm, who wants to come? On Sunday, September 10 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, the Olympic Park Esplanade will be open for the Portes ouvertes sur les fermes du Québec. You will have the opportunity to participate in a large corn roast, meet the farm animals and enjoy the many activities on site. On the same day, over 100 farms across Quebec will open their doors for free to those who wish to meet farmers. This 15th edition, organized by the Union des Production Agricoles (UPA), is an event not to be missed this summer. Good or bad weather, farmers will be ready to welcome you!
