Rutabaga and turnip, same thing? Not quite!

For a long time now, we have confused the turnip and the rutabaga! In fact, they are two different species.

Most turnip varieties have white flesh, while rutabagas are usually yellow. They can be differentiated by their leaves: those of rutabaga are smooth like those of cabbage, while those of the turnip are rough and hairy. They are both very good though!
